Vincent Bach (March 24, 1890, Baden bei Wien January 8, 1976, New York City) was a musician and instrument maker, who founded the Vincent Bach Corporation. He was born as Vincent Schrotenbach in Baden bei Wien. He received training on the violin initially and switched to trumpet later. After he graduated from Maschinenbauschule for an engineering degree, he began his career as a musician. Schrotenbach moved to New York City to escape World War I, and shortened his name to Bach. Conductor Karl Muck granted him an audition with the Boston Symphony, and by the following year he was principle trumpet with the Metropolitan Opera.
